I have been around dogs and cats for almost my entire life, and for the past year I have also been actively caring for other people’s pets in Barcelona. I have extensive experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels and needs, including large and high-energy breeds. I regularly help people in Barcelona with their pets, often taking care of dogs for several days at a time. My responsibilities include long walks, feeding, playtime, basic training, grooming, giving medication when needed, and keeping dogs company throughout the day. I have experience with energetic dogs who need a lot of exercise, as well as more anxious or sensitive dogs who need patience, consistency and a calm approach. I always try to understand each dog’s individual personality and adapt the way I interact with them accordingly. I’m comfortable handling larger dogs and strong dogs on the leash, and I have experience working on things like pulling, excessive sniffing and improving focus during walks. I have also studied dog psychology and different approaches to communication and behaviour. For me, caring for a dog is about more than simply meeting their basic needs — I want them to feel safe, comfortable, understood and happy while their owner is away. I’m responsible, attentive and used to taking full responsibility for a pet’s daily routine.

Does either of them need any medication, vitamins, or special supplements? 7. Are there any house rules I should know about? For example, are the dogs allowed on the sofa or bed? Are there any rooms they are not allowed into? 8. What should I do in case of an emergency? Do you have the contact details of your vet or someone I can contact quickly?

Un día típico

My typical day with a pet is structured around their needs, personality, and routine. I like to start the morning with a good walk, giving the dog enough time to exercise, explore and sniff around. I believe walks are not only about physical activity but also important mental stimulation. After the morning walk, I make sure they have fresh water and food, and then I spend some calm time with them. Depending on the dog, this could be playing, training, grooming, or simply keeping them company. For the second walk, I like to make it more active and interesting. If the dog enjoys it, I love taking them to enclosed dog parks where they can safely run off-leash, play, explore and socialize with other dogs. I always take the individual dog’s personality and comfort level into account. With energetic dogs, I like to include longer walks, games and some basic training. With more anxious or sensitive dogs, I focus on creating a calm, predictable environment and giving them time and space to feel comfortable. I’m happy to give medication when needed and follow the owner’s instructions carefully. In the evening, I usually take another longer walk, followed by dinner, playtime and some relaxed time together. Before going to bed, I always take the dog out for a short final walk so they can do their business and settle comfortably for the night. For me, pet sitting is not just about feeding a dog and taking it outside. I try to make sure the pet feels safe, loved, stimulated and comfortable while their owner is away.
